How to play Labyrinth

Labyrinth is a free maze adventure game you can play in your browser on a computer, tablet or phone — no download and no account. You are a knight lost in a hedge maze. Somewhere inside lies a golden key; find it, fight your way past the monsters, and escape through the locked gate before you run out of hearts. Every level is a brand-new maze, bigger than the last.

Controls

On a keyboard, walk with the arrow keys or W, A, S and D, and press Space or J (or click) to swing your sword in the direction you are facing. Press P or Esc to pause. On a phone or tablet, put a finger on the maze and your knight walks towards it; press Sword to swing. You can also walk with the buttons under the maze. The small map in the corner fills in as you explore.

Monsters

• Slimes are slow and wander about, but follow you once they see you. Two hits, 50 points.
• Bats are quick and flutter straight at you. One hit, 75 points.
• Skeletons appear from level 2 and hunt you through the maze from far away. Three hits, 150 points.

Hearts, gems and levels

You have five hearts. Touching a monster costs one and leaves you flashing for a second while nothing can hurt you. Hearts lying in the maze give one back, and so does escaping a level. Blue gems are worth 25 points each, and defeated monsters sometimes drop one. Escaping scores 500 points times the level, plus a bonus for being quick. Your best score is remembered in this browser on this device only.
